Cadillac Escalade
The default choice for Chicago executive travel. Commanding presence, a cabin quiet enough for a call on the Kennedy, and enough room for six with luggage.

Wheeling, Illinois · Private Aviation
Ramp-side chauffeur service at Chicago Executive Airport, coordinated with your FBO by tail number, so the walk from the aircraft door to the vehicle door is the only walk there is.
Chicago Executive Airport car service starts at $125 flat to downtown Chicago and is built around one idea: private aviation exists to remove friction, so the ground transportation should not put any back. We coordinate with the FBO by tail number and stage the vehicle as the aircraft comes off the runway.
PWK sits in Wheeling, about eighteen miles northwest of downtown Chicago, and is the fourth busiest airport in Illinois with more than seventy-seven thousand takeoffs and landings a year. It was Palwaukee Municipal until 2006. It exists for business aviation, which means no terminal, no security line and no baggage carousel. It also means the car should already be there.
Private Aviation Standards
Everything a principal expects, and nothing they should have to ask for.
We book against the aircraft registration, not a flight number, and confirm arrival directly with FBO line staff rather than guessing at an ETA.
Where the FBO permits it, the vehicle stages on the ramp so the walk from aircraft door to vehicle door is a matter of steps.
Chauffeurs are background checked and bound by confidentiality agreements. Passenger identities, destinations and conversations do not leave the vehicle.
Private aviation moves. If the aircraft slips three hours, the chauffeur is redeployed and nothing about the reservation needs to be rebooked.
Principals in an Escalade, crew and luggage in a Yukon XL, a full delegation in a Sprinter. One reservation, coordinated by one dispatcher.
Ramp to address, one number, tolls and fuel included. Nothing is metered and nothing is added when the trip is over.
How It Works
You give us a tail number. We handle the airport.
Tell us the aircraft registration, the FBO and the expected arrival window. Passenger count, luggage and any crew vehicle needed.
Dispatch confirms arrival directly with FBO line staff and updates as the aircraft's ETA moves. Nobody on your side has to chase it.
The chauffeur arrives ahead of the aircraft and stages where the FBO directs, ramp side where permitted, lobby side otherwise.
Luggage transferred, passengers seated, flat rate on the account. The airport was never a step in the itinerary.
PWK to the Loop · 18 milesWhy PWK Exists
Chicago Executive Airport is owned jointly by the City of Prospect Heights and the Village of Wheeling, and it handles more than seventy-seven thousand operations a year, which makes it the fourth busiest field in Illinois. It opened in 1926 as Gauthier's Flying Field, was renamed Pal-Waukee, and became Chicago Executive in 2006.
It is built for business aviation. Fixed base operators including Signature Flight Support provide fueling, hangar space, ground handling, crew rest, conference rooms and catering. There is no terminal in the commercial sense, no security queue and no baggage system.
Geographically it is the obvious field for the North Shore and the northern suburbs. Northbrook, Deerfield, Glenview, Buffalo Grove, Lake Forest and Highland Park are all short runs. Downtown Chicago is about eighteen miles and fifty minutes in ordinary traffic.
The Fleet
An Escalade for the principals, a Yukon XL for the bags, a Sprinter for the whole party.

The default choice for Chicago executive travel. Commanding presence, a cabin quiet enough for a call on the Kennedy, and enough room for six with luggage.

Understated and lounge-smooth. Reclining second-row captain's chairs make it the quiet favorite for long Loop-to-suburb runs.

Extended wheelbase, real third-row legroom and the deepest cargo hold in the SUV tier. Built for airport runs where nobody holds a bag on their lap.

The value pick. Same seven seats, same chauffeur, same flat rate, a little less badge. Popular with families flying out of Midway.

Stand-up cabin, executive seating and luggage racks. One vehicle instead of three for board offsites, wedding parties and convention groups.

The occasion car. Wraparound leather, fiber-optic lighting and a bar console for weddings, prom and Chicago nights that deserve an entrance.
Starting prices in USD before taxes and gratuity. Your final flat rate depends on route, date, hours and vehicle. Each vehicle is shown with and without a professional chauffeur.

Discretion, Not Just Punctuality
Private aviation clients are buying time and privacy. Ground transportation that arrives late, or that talks about who it drove, undoes both. Our chauffeurs are background checked, suited, silent and already on the ramp.
PWK Ground Truth
The operational details that matter when the aircraft is yours.
Renamed Chicago Executive Airport in October 2006 by vote of Wheeling and Prospect Heights. Older charts and older pilots still say Palwaukee.
Signature Flight Support and other operators handle fueling, hangars, crew rest and catering. Passengers walk from the aircraft to a lobby, or to a waiting vehicle.
Roughly fifty minutes to the Loop in normal traffic via the Edens. Considerably less to Northbrook, Deerfield, Glenview and Buffalo Grove.
More than seventy-seven thousand takeoffs and landings a year, almost all of it business aviation, charter and flight training.
PWK is a natural connection point for passengers repositioning to or from a commercial flight at O'Hare. Transfers start at $105.
No terminal, no crowds, no photographs. A chauffeur who understands that is worth more than a chauffeur who arrives early.
Why Chicago Books Us
Six standards we hold on every ramp-side pickup.
Reservations are built on tail numbers and confirmed with line staff. Your flight department is not chasing a car service for an ETA.
The vehicle is positioned before the aircraft lands. Nothing about the pickup begins when the door opens.
Background-checked chauffeurs under confidentiality agreements. Named chauffeur assignment for principals who fly the same route repeatedly.
Principals, crew and cargo in separate vehicles, coordinated as one reservation on one invoice, dispatched by one person.
Ramp to address for one number that includes tolls and fuel. Nothing is added later and nothing is metered while an aircraft is late.
The Edens in a February storm, at 5 AM, in a winter-equipped vehicle driven by someone who does it every week. The rate does not change.
Common Questions
Questions from flight departments, charter brokers and principals.
Flat rates from Chicago Executive Airport start at $125 to downtown Chicago in a Ford Expedition and $130 in a Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln Navigator. Northbrook and Deerfield start at $95, Lake Forest at $105, Arlington Heights at $90 and O'Hare at $105. A fourteen-passenger Mercedes-Benz Sprinter to downtown starts at $195. All rates are flat, include tolls and fuel, and are quoted before you book, with Illinois taxes and gratuity added at booking.
Where the fixed base operator permits it, yes. We coordinate directly with FBO line staff, stage the vehicle before the aircraft lands, and position so that the walk from the aircraft door to the vehicle door is a matter of steps. Where ramp access is restricted, the chauffeur meets passengers in the FBO lobby and handles luggage from there. Tell us the FBO name at booking and we will confirm the arrangement with them, not with you.
The aircraft tail number, the fixed base operator, the expected arrival window, the passenger count and any luggage or crew vehicle requirement. We do not need a commercial flight number because there is not one. Dispatch confirms the arrival directly with the FBO and updates as the ETA moves, which private aviation ETAs reliably do. Your flight department does not have to call us and we do not call your principal.
PWK is in Wheeling, Illinois, in Cook County, roughly eighteen miles northwest of downtown Chicago and jointly owned by the City of Prospect Heights and the Village of Wheeling. The drive to the Loop is about twenty-five road miles and forty to sixty minutes in ordinary traffic via the Edens. It is considerably closer to the North Shore: Northbrook and Deerfield are around fifteen minutes, Lake Forest around twenty-five, Arlington Heights about fifteen.
Yes. It opened in 1926 as Gauthier's Flying Field, was briefly Swallow Airplane Field, and became Pal-Waukee in November 1926, a contraction of Palatine Road and Milwaukee Avenue. It operated as Palwaukee Municipal Airport for decades. In August 2006 trustees from Wheeling and the Prospect Heights City Council voted to rename it, and on October 17, 2006 it formally became Chicago Executive Airport. Older charts, and a good many pilots, still say Palwaukee.
Yes, and we do it routinely. Principals travel in a Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln Navigator, crew and luggage follow in a GMC Yukon XL or Ford Expedition, and a full delegation takes a fourteen-passenger Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. All vehicles are coordinated as a single reservation by a single dispatcher and settle onto one invoice. Corporate and flight department accounts consolidate every movement onto a monthly statement with tail numbers referenced.
Nothing you have to manage. Because the reservation is built on the tail number and confirmed with the FBO, dispatch sees the ETA move before most flight departments send an email about it, and the chauffeur is redeployed. There is no wait-time charge accruing while an aircraft is late. If the aircraft diverts to O'Hare, Midway, DuPage or Waukegan, we reposition the vehicle to the new field rather than cancelling the reservation.
Yes. We meet aircraft at DuPage Airport in West Chicago, at the Signature and Atlantic Aviation FBOs at Midway, and at private aviation facilities serving O'Hare. Waukegan, Aurora Municipal, Lewis University and Gary/Chicago International are all quoted on request. The booking protocol is identical everywhere: tail number, FBO, arrival window, and direct coordination with the line staff rather than with the passenger.
Chicago Executive Airport occupies a specific niche in the region's aviation geography. It is eighteen miles northwest of downtown, in Wheeling, and it is deliberately built around business aviation rather than commercial passenger volume. More than seventy-seven thousand takeoffs and landings a year make it the fourth busiest field in Illinois.
For anyone living or working along the North Shore and the northern suburbs, that location is decisive. Northbrook, Deerfield, Glenview, Buffalo Grove, Highland Park and Lake Forest are all fifteen to thirty minutes from the ramp. Departing from PWK rather than O'Hare removes a cross-metro drive from both ends of the trip, which is usually the entire reason a principal is flying private in the first place.
The mechanics matter. A chauffeured pickup at a commercial airport is a curb problem. At an FBO it is a coordination problem. We build the reservation against the aircraft registration, confirm the arrival window directly with line staff, and stage the vehicle before the aircraft is on final.
Where the FBO grants ramp access, the vehicle sits near the aircraft and the passenger's walk is measured in steps. Where it does not, the chauffeur meets passengers in the lobby and handles the luggage transfer. Either way, the flight department is never chasing a driver for an ETA, and the principal never waits. That is the whole product.
Private aviation trips rarely involve one vehicle. A typical PWK movement has principals going one direction, flight crew going to a hotel, and luggage or freight going somewhere else again. Running that as three separate bookings with three separate dispatchers is how it goes wrong.
We run it as one reservation. A Cadillac Escalade or Lincoln Navigator takes the principals. A GMC Yukon XL, with the deepest cargo hold in the fleet, takes crew and bags. A fourteen-passenger Mercedes-Benz Sprinter takes a full delegation when the aircraft carries one. Every vehicle is dispatched by the same person, every chauffeur is briefed on the same movement, and everything settles onto one invoice referencing the tail number.
Chicago Executive is the right field for the North Shore and the northern suburbs. DuPage Airport in West Chicago, about thirty miles west of downtown, is the right field for Naperville, Wheaton, Hinsdale and the Oak Brook corporate corridor, and spares those travelers a cross-city drive entirely.
Midway carries two FBOs, Atlantic Aviation and Signature Flight Support, with customs on the field and two runways given to general aviation, which makes it viable for the city and the south side. O'Hare accepts private aircraft but is rarely the efficient choice. We meet aircraft at all four, on the same tail-number protocol, at flat rates quoted before departure.
